Depression Treatment At Home
It is important to go to your GP and tell them how you are feeling. They will give you the correct depression treatment at home.
They may prescribe you medication or refer you to a therapist. You can also refer yourself to talking therapies
These tips may help you too;
- Set goals. Often people who are depressed feel that they are not useful. Set yourself daily goals. These can be small goals like washing the dishes. Once you have accomplished a goal you will feel a sense of achievement. The key to goal setting is tiny goals, start small and build from there.
- Have a routine. When people are depressed one day often merges into another. A routine will help you.
- Exercise. When you exercise your body releases endorphins which are feel-good chemicals. If you can go out for a walk in the fresh air a few days a week it would be beneficial for you.
- Healthy Eating. You are what you eat. Eat a balanced diet. If depression makes you overeat, getting in control of your eating will help you feel better.
- Sleep. Not enough sleep can make your depression worse. Have a bedtime routine that works for you. Go to bed and get up at the same time each day. Don’t look at screens before bedtime.
- Write. People with depression find that writing helps them get their thoughts and feelings out of their heads. Whenever you feel down, write.
